You can run in the body you have now!
Welcome to Fat Girls Run Too! I’m Stacey, I’m a fat runner, I have been running for over 15 years and have gone from 260 pounds and barely able to run for a minute to 128 pounds and running ultra marathons – and everything in-between!
Several years ago a bad accident (I went through the windshield of a car while riding my bike) which led to pain, rehab, weight gain and, most recently, a total knee replacement surgery (TKR).
But now I’m back, on the mend and ready to rebuild my fitness and enjoy running in the body I have now. I’m excited to connect with all of you to share experiences, motivation and encouragement! If you’re ready – let’s hit the road!
Yikes – I Said the Word FAT!

It’s been six months since I came home from the hospital with a brand new knee. A new knee and the optimistic hope that starting to run again was approximately 6 weeks away. If you have been following my knee replacement recovery posts you’ll know just how wrong I was. Six months post-op and I am just now starting to
Knee Replacement Surgery – Pain and Recovery in Week 3
Today was physio day. I’m finding myself really looking forward to my physio appointments. They are painful, yes, but my physio is really great and pushes me just enough to ensure progress and always leaves me with tips and homework for advancing when I leave. I definitely would NOT be making the progress that I am without her help.
Knee Replacement Recovery – Exercise and Movement
