Hi! I’m Stacey. I’m a big girl, German Shepherd lover and fan of all things running. I am a long-time runner who has completed races from 5k all the way up to 80k distances. I firmly believe that if you RUN, you’re a runner, regardless of your size, shape, pace or distance.I created this site to share my experiences as a plus-size runner and to create a space where everyone can learn and celebrate each other. Running in the Rain – Love it or Hate it?

Fall is upon us and that means the rainy season is just around the corner – at least in my part of the world! There is no question that running in the rain comes with its challenges – it can be cold, being damp can exasperate chafing issues and who likes gutting it up a

Goal Setting and my Running Plan

I’m a girl with a plan!  Or at least part of one (perhaps a “pla” – if you were a Friends fan you may get the reference). It’s officially fall! And that means that my next running goal is right around the corner! It feels like summer sped by in a heartbeat and I confess that

Pool Running – a joint friendly alternative

Starting to Run Again – Post Surgery Recovery

It’s been six months since I came home from the hospital with a brand new knee. A new knee and the optimistic hope that starting to run again was approximately 6 weeks away. If you have been following my knee replacement recovery posts you’ll know just how wrong I was. Six months post-op and I

Knee Replacement Surgery – Pain and Recovery in Week 3

Today was physio day. I’m finding myself really looking forward to my physio appointments. Imposter Syndrome

Have you every suffered from imposter syndrome? The phrase is usually used in a professional context – when someone finds themselves in a position that they don’t feel qualified for and have to “fake it until they make it”. But the same can be said for runners. Sometimes I ask myself what they heck I’m

The Realities of Being a Fat Runner

I will be the first one to put up my hand and say that being a fat runner isn’t easy. I sweat more, get out of breath more quickly and don’t get me started on “jiggling”. In addition to those realities, there are some other unpleasant aspects to being a fat runner that I think

Let’s Talk Boob Sweat

I promised when I started this blog I would talk about all of the aspects of being a fat runner – the good, the bad and the ugly. Boob sweat definitely falls into the ugly. If you are carrying some extra pounds chances are you’re familiar with this lovely phenomena. You get home from a

Injuries, Health Concerns and Stress – OH MY!

The last few weeks haven’t been easy. After a rough 2022 I came into 2023 thinking “this will be my year! This will be the year I will get healthy, figure out my long term goals, and be happy”. And the year started out fairly well – a surgery I have been waiting for over
