I have spent a lot of time in the pool between surgery recovery and low-impact cardio training. And while swimming is definitely not my strong suit, I can’t deny that my running performance has improved thanks to time spent in the water.
One important part of my pool training is building up my leg muscles. A great way to do that is to practice my kick. Using a kickboard goes a long way to help improve my kick and give my legs a good workout (all while getting some cardio in!)
I prefer to use my own kickboard rather than trying to find one at the pool. The pool boards aren’t great and I can never seem to find one when I need it.
I have had my kickboard for a number of years, so this model is not the exact same one, but it is the closest one that I could find. I like it because it’s light, the shape cuts easily through the water and it’s designed so I can put my hands/arms in different places, allowing me to change my workout as needed.
If you are looking to start, or expand, a pool training program, I recommend giving this board a try.
